When I am preparing to sew something I don't usually draw it out. I can picture it in my head and go from there. I don't design clothing though, just bags. If I am in a store or see a bag on TV that I like then I can look at it and figure out how it is made then make a pattern for it out of tissue paper or computer paper. I really like to make book bags. When I get my inspiration for them I am usually at the fabric store and see a fabric that I like then just go around and pick other fabrics out to go with it. If i am at home I rummage through my piles of fabric and piece stuff together. I really like getting old fabric from flea markets because it is always really unique. A lot of the time it does not match but that's why I like them and they stand out. Most people think that I bought them in a store and want me to make them one. I have sold a few for between $30 and $50 dollars. Here is a couple of pictures from the most recent bag that I made one day between classes.

Very original, resourceful, unique, and fun. I've been known to make a few bags myself, but not ever book bags. I like the bright colors and the contrasting lining. I also love the idea of a 1 of a kind.

They look professional and would be a really cool thing to maybe do online and have people get customized bookbags with certain colors and prints. I want one, most bookbags now are ugly.

That bag is so cute!!! I love the patchwork on the inside and the colors are definitely a wow factor. It's very original and I would buy it. Book bags is something you don't see many people design themselves which is why it makes it so unique.

I love your bag! It is so sweet and makes me feel happy! :) I like that it is so colorful, but most of all I like the pattern on the inside! It becomes a surprise when people open it! Good luck with future designs!

This bag is awesome. I liked the detail in your stintching as well. You could tell it took a lot of time and effort. Using unigue and interesting fabrics bring charm and appeal to the bag. I could see myself and many other people buying a bag just like that at a boutique in Soho in the future. Who knows maybe it will be yours :)
